Cell biology and cytology, structure and function of a cell as the smallest living unit of the human organism. Structure and function of cell groups (tissues) and their distinguishing features. Structure and function of the most important organs of the human body: cardiovascular system, nervous system, hormonal system, respiratory system, digestive system, support and movement system and skin.
The components of the active and passive musculoskeletal system as well as their function for the position and movement of the human body. Origin and insertion of the most important muscle groups as well as the joint movements triggered by shortening.
The study of imparting knowledge for carrying out sports training with the aim of increasing performance and/or maintaining or improving health (fitness). Description of generally valid, cross-sport training principles, training methods and training content. Foundation of didactic and pedagogical principles. Training control through physiological factors (age, training state, recovery capacity). Long-term training planning; state analysis, setting of training goals, implementation of the goals through training sessions, training plans and periodisation of sports training in order to achieve maximum performance capacity at a specific point in time.
Physiological foundations of muscle training and the adaptations it triggers in the skeletal musculature. Understanding of the physiological determinants for efficient and effective strength training: tension resistance, repetitions, sets, breaks, training sessions, training periods, distribution of contraction types, tension duration, muscle exhaustion, range of motion, recovery time, training quality.
Physiological foundations of endurance performance capacity: the potential (maximum oxygen uptake), the utilisation (relative use of the potential) and fatigue resistance (maintenance of performance). Knowledge of energy provision. Structural and functional adaptations to endurance training of the cardiovascular system, the muscular system, the respiratory system.
(Bio)mechanical foundations of machine training. Knowledge of the most important components of a strength machine. Correct setting and use. (Bio)mechanical foundations of training with free weights. Knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of free weights. Correct instruction and correction.
Foundations of training planning for different clients: order of exercise selection and training methodology, training intensity and duration. Practical implementation of the foundations of training planning, training theory, equipment knowledge, training with free weights on the training floor
Physiological foundations of food intake as well as of nutrients. General principles and covering of the daily requirement for foods / nutrients.
Physiological muscle length growth and its influence on muscular performance capacity. Terminology: stretching / stretching / muscle length training
Opportunities and risks of coordination training and its influence on strength training. Training of balance as fall prevention.

As a rule, participants need between 1 and 3 months.
However, you alone determine how long your training takes. Complete the training alongside your main job or caring for your family, or make your training a full-time job: the more time you plan for the training, the sooner you'll have your certificate in your pocket.

The training imparts to you all the theoretical knowledge so that you can optimise and plan your own training. In the theory you get to know content from the areas of “Anatomy & physiology”, “Training theory” and “Nutrition & energetics”. You'll find a comprehensive overview of the course content in our module description
For self-study you also need good spoken and written knowledge of German. Otherwise there are no requirements.
