Who the workshop suits
The workshop is aimed at fitness trainers, personal trainers and group fitness instructors who regularly deal with clients who have health limitations and want to place the terms from medical reports and registration forms with confidence. In technical terms it is about understanding what lies behind a condition and how it relates to movement and training.
How the workshop runs
With your registration you receive the login details for the learning platform. There you will find the manual on pathophysiology, the audio files for every chapter, with which you can go through this extensive material on the move as well, and two interactive learning videos: one on the musculoskeletal conditions and one on the systemic ones. You work online, free of fixed times and places.
We answer technical questions by email to info@update-akademie.ch or in an online consultation session. The workshop closes with the assessment in the specially developed examination tool. It can be taken at any time. Taking content one to one from AI output or internet sources counts as a fail. Your submission is marked by hand by an expert, and feedback normally follows within seven working days. After that you receive your workshop confirmation.
Where things go from here
The content stays open to you after you finish, which is especially useful with this material: you can look individual conditions up later when you need them. The healthy function of the systems concerned is dealt with by The Organ Systems, and the structures of the musculoskeletal system by The Musculoskeletal System. All the other topics in the series are under Fitness workshops. If you want to take the whole thing on as a qualification, the Fitness and Movement Trainer brings this content together.

Frequently asked questions
Which conditions are covered?
The workshop covers disorders of the cardiovascular system, metabolic disorders, general systemic diseases, disorders of the respiratory system, psychiatric disorders and complaints at the back, spine, shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. On top of that come disorders of the muscle, postural faults and special topics on stress, sleep disorders and prosthetics.
Can I book the workshop on its own?
Yes. You book the workshop on its own and complete it on its own, and you do not have to sign up for a whole training programme to do so. The content comes from a broader fitness training programme that brings these topics together. Taken on its own, though, the workshop is complete and ends with a workshop confirmation of its own.
Are the chapters available as audio files too?
Yes. There is an audio file for every chapter of the manual. With this extensive topic in particular, that lets you go over individual conditions again on the move and then look at them more closely in the manual or in the learning videos.
How do I complete the workshop?
With an assessment in the specially developed examination tool, which you can sit at any time. It is corrected by hand by an expert, and the feedback normally comes within seven working days. After that you receive your workshop confirmation.
