Posture and performance are often dealt with separately, but in practice they are closely linked: how somebody stands has a bearing on how they transfer force and carry out movements. This workshop joins the two sides. It shows how you record and interpret a postural status, and how you can measure performance and build it deliberately, from diagnostics through to speed training.
What you learn
- Classical training theory in depth, with an eye on performance and training
- Building the performance of the individual
- The individual postural status and how it comes about
- Postural analysis as a tool in advising
- The biomechanics of human posture in depth
- Interactive learning video: athletic performance
- Interactive learning video: the postural status, how to carry it out and what it is good for
- Interactive learning video: body analysis and diagnostics with health values and performance data
- Interactive learning video: speed, the basics and how trainable it is in the fitness centre
Who the workshop suits
The workshop is aimed at fitness trainers, personal trainers and athletic coaches who want to work with analysis and diagnostics instead of planning by feel. It fits particularly well if you would like to offer postural analyses or to record health values and performance data in a structured way and explain them to your clients in an understandable form. The content reaches further in technical terms than the pure foundation workshops in the series.
How the workshop runs
After you register you receive the login details for the learning platform. There you will find the manual on posture and performance, the audio files for every chapter and four interactive learning videos on athletic performance, the postural status, body analysis and diagnostics, and speed. You work online, free of fixed times and places and at your own pace.
You can clarify questions by email to info@update-akademie.ch or in one of our online consultation sessions. The workshop closes with the assessment in the specially developed examination tool. It can be taken at any time. Taking content one to one from AI output or internet sources counts as a fail. An expert marks your submission by hand, the feedback normally follows within seven working days, and after that you receive your workshop confirmation.
Where things go from here
The content stays open to you after you finish as well. The anatomical basis for work on posture is supplied by Neutral Posture, and how you carry your findings over into training plans is shown by The optimal design of training sessions. The remaining topics are under Fitness workshops. Because the content of this workshop comes from the more advanced part of the qualification, the Fitness and Movement Trainer Advanced is the route to take if you want to work through it in a wider context.

Frequently asked questions
Which materials do I receive for the workshop?
On the learning platform you will find the manual on posture and performance, the audio files for every chapter and four interactive learning videos: on athletic performance, on postural status, on body analysis and diagnostics and on speed. The materials stay open to you after you have completed the workshop.
Do I need prior knowledge for the workshop on posture and performance?
The workshop does not call for any particular qualification, but it goes further in technical terms than the purely introductory workshops in the series. If you want to build the anatomical basis first, the workshop on neutral posture is the right way in. Open points can be cleared up by email or in an online consultation session.
Is the workshop part of a larger training programme?
You can book the workshop on its own and complete it on its own. The content comes from the advanced part of the training programme, which is why the Fitness and Movement Trainer Advanced is the right route if you want to work through it in a wider context. It is not a requirement for the workshop, though.
How do I complete the workshop?
With an assessment in the specially developed examination tool. It can be taken at any time and is marked by hand by an expert. The feedback comes within seven working days as a rule, and after that you receive your workshop confirmation.
