Knowing anatomy is one thing, reading it on a person standing in front of you is another. This workshop takes the route from structure to function: it looks at the lower and the upper extremity functionally and brings the two together in posture. That gives you an eye for how individual structures work together when somebody stands, walks or performs an exercise in front of you.
What you learn
- The functional anatomy of the lower extremities (interactive learning video, part 1)
- The functional anatomy of the upper extremities (interactive learning video, part 2)
- Posture as the interplay of these structures (interactive learning video, part 3)
- The manual on functional anatomy as the basis for your self-study
- The transfer from theory into practice as the learning videos set it out
Who the workshop suits
The workshop is aimed at fitness trainers, personal trainers and group fitness instructors who want to do more than demonstrate exercises and would rather relate them to the posture of their clients. It also fits if you already have a grounding in anatomy and now want to place it functionally, along the question of which structure takes on which task in which movement.
How the workshop runs
After you register you receive the login details for the learning platform. The workshop consists of the manual on functional anatomy for your self-study and of three interactive learning videos that build on each other, on the lower extremities, on the upper extremities and on posture. You learn online, free of fixed times and places and at your own pace.
If questions stay open or you would like an expert opinion, you get in touch by email to info@update-akademie.ch or join an online consultation session. The workshop closes with the assessment in the specially developed examination tool. It can be taken at any time. Taking content one to one from AI output or internet sources is not permitted and counts as a fail. An expert corrects it by hand and normally gets back to you within seven working days, after which you receive your workshop confirmation.
Where things go from here
The content stays open to you after you finish as well. If you want to work through the structures behind it more systematically, you will find them in The Musculoskeletal System. How posture can be recorded and what it has to do with performance is taken further by How posture and physical performance are connected. The remaining topics in the series are under Fitness workshops, and the full route through the qualification is set out at Fitness and Movement Trainer.
